Innovation and 360° service push OMET growth
Marco Calcagni, OMET Sales and Marketing Director, talks about an intense 2022 from a commercial point of view. Markets were generally vibrant, despite the high tension throughout the supply chain, and OMET managed to handle the situation with flexibility and expertise that let turnover and order intake grow, driven by new products presented during the year.
The month of June saw the inauguration of the Innovation Park, the new demo center for customers and partners, located just a short walk from the new OMET Headquarters, and the simultaneous presentation of the new KFlex line, for which we have already received several orders that will be delivered starting from next year. Growth concerned particularly high quality and performance lines such as X6, Varyflex and KFlex.
There is also growing interest in hybrid technology: OMET’s collaboration with Durst is getting closer and closer, and the XJet project is making successes all over the world. The biggest multinationals of the industry are relying on hybrid technology – flexo/digital and in some cases with hotfoil – for their future. OMET is making major investments in the field of printed electronics and smart labels in particular with RibesTech, the new start-up launched a few years ago with very interesting projects that will surely have strong development in the coming years.
The Galileo service platform was launched in 2022, too. This project sees OMET at the forefront not only as a service partner for existing machines but also as a consultant for efficiency, to help customers in optimizing the machine utilization, checking bottlenecks, and maximizing productivity and profit. This platform will have even greater development the next year, thanks to new artificial intelligence systems and Industry 4.0 that will take OMET lines far beyond the traditional functions of a printing press.
